Life is Sweet

Good morning!  Just  popping in to bring you are card using this Deconstructed Sketch 161.

I also made my own patterned paper - the one with the sweet little roses, and that works for SCS Friday Free for All Challenge in which we had to make our own patterned paper woohoo! I know it's late but with those challenges you can put your card in the gallery any time at all - so technically I'm in haha.

I used Papertrey Ink's The Sweet Life stamp set for my background, stamping those sweet little roses in Melon Berry, Scarlet Jewel and Sweet Blush.  The leaves were stamped with Simply Chartruese and Spring Moss.

As you can tell I am rediscovering Papertrey Ink's stamps and I am in love with them all over!  So fickle.

Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop

Good morning!

Today I am sharing a card I made for the July Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.  This is my first hop in a looong time but I couldn't resist with those gorgeous colours in our inspiration photo!

I adore that sweet little gingham envelope, so I just had to incorporate the gingham stamp from On the Farm in my card.

The chicken - well, I just couldn't resist - after living on a farm and raising hens and gathering eggs - I love anything chicken related!  - It sort of goes with the sweet bird in the inspiration photo - agreed? *wink*

I stamped it to be a little roadway for my bicycle - and that bicycle??!!  I love the pretty aquamist colour - and I want one just like it!  Of course it is part of the Pedal Pusher Stamp and Die Set...

I stamped and embossed - on vellum-  and then fussy cut one of the sweet bows from Ribbons and Bows and tacked it to the back of the bike to create a bit of movement.

Take a tour through the rest of the Blog Hop - there is so much inspiration to be found on everyone's blogs - hard to believe that one photo could create so many beautiful different masterpieces!!

Thank you for visiting!

Curtain Call - Happy Day!

Good Morning!  I am on my way to get some groceries----the worst job in the world - blech, but I wanted to post my Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge creation first.

This is their 1st Anniversary so I wanted to check in and enter the challenge - and there are prizes so I'm in!

Here is the inspiration photo and my take on the inspiration follows...

I used Papertrey Ink's Life is Beautiful Butterfly Die and their Horizontal Stripe Cover Plate Die for my card today....

...and the pretty close up -  I used some patterned papers for the horizontal stripes and then popped up the butterfly with vellum attached.

The sentiment is from Framed Out #7 Mini Stamp set and die (I only used the inside of the die for the sentiment)

....now for the groceries....

Make it Monday - No Outline Watercolour

Okay, I'll be honest - I actually grimaced when I read the Make it Monday challenge - an all out gnashing teeth, banging head on table reaction.

Watercolouring alone is enough to make me hyperventilate....but having NO lines - come ON!

However, I persevered and came out with a somewhat presentable if not slightly bloppy creation -

In her video, Heather used Friends 'Til The End stamp set - which I stupidly sold last year - so I used my new set - Garden Grace - which I am in love with!

Using watercolor paper, I stamped the outline stamp with Soft Stone ink and then watercolored with Winter Wisteria and Royal Velvet inks for the flowers, and Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado and Simply Chartreuse for the leaves.  The inset is FREEHAND with Aquamist ink.....I'm awesome like that.

The beautiful sentiment is included in the stamp set.  I mistakenly, but thankfully (make sense?) bought a whole passel of Royal Velvet Bitty Dot patterned paper, so I used that for the backing for my card - lucky me!

You are my Happy Place!

This is for today's Featured Stamper on Splitcoaststampers. I tried to put together a colourful creation - it worked but it seems so off balance!  Anyway I should have used some of my beloved ribbon - I'm such a hoarder!

I used all Papertrey Ink products today - soetimes I have the nerve to mix and match stamp sets and papers and inks....but not often - such a wimp lol.

I die cut the Phrase Play #1 Die with patterned paper and then filled in the words with Hawaiian Shores and Orange Zest cardstock.

I also got out my NEVER USED (wha????!!) Party Poppers stamp set and dies to add a little cuteness to my creations - add somesequins and I was done!

But like I say - off balance.  An Orange Zest ribbon at the top left corner - or Hawaiian Shores would have been perfect - I am still in love with my ribbon! - I don't care what anyone says about twine (it's okay)

Talk soon!

Enjoy and be Bright!

Splitcoaststampers and Avery Elle have new challenges and since I just had a little - okay - LARGE passel of new Avery Elle stamps delivered this week (*wink), I couldn't resist!

The current challenge at Avery Elle is "One Word" - something I'm definitely not good at haha!

Splitcoaststampers Free For All challenge today is use Bright Colours!! - Easy!

I stamped up my new "Thanks a Bunch" set using PTI Hibiscus Burst, New Leaf and Smokey Shadow inks.  I love these bright  colours!

The little scalloped border just adds a little feminine flair that I couldn't resist!

I stamped the image three times, using my various inks and then I stamped the flowers only on a scrap piece of paper - fussy cut it and popped it up onto the middle bouquet.

I used my Wink of Stella brush to add some shimmer and shine to that gorgeous bouquet!

Thanks for visiting once again!

This Tangled Life....in a Rainbow!

I thought this week's Make it Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink was a strange one - but I had some stamping time so I thought I would give it  go and  it turned out oh so pretty - shows what I know - hah!

We were to make a rainbow medallion of sorts, from a stamp set that was not cut out for such a job feat.

I chose to use the Christmas tree stamp from Love Lives Here - Holiday and stamped it in a circle with a rainbow of inks!

I love how the tree stamp made a couple of little frames on its own when lined up the way it is.  It was a perfect frame for the Jar Label Die!

I added a mess of thread behind the Jar Label Die to match the theme - tangled life and all -

The stamp set for the sentiment is called Purls of Wisdom - "purls" to pull together the whole knitting/stitching thing again...

I was rather happy with how this turned out and I may have to try it again with another stamp set.....

Celebrate in Gold!

Good Morning!   I have some Avery Elle Stamps that I bought when I was in Florida and I wanted to use them in the GOLD challenge AE is having on their blog!

I LOVE gold :)

I used the Circle It stamp set - I have seen it used many times and each time I LOVE the way it is showcased.

My card is quite similar but I also snuck in another stamp set - the feather from Love Notes - how sneaky am I??!

I decided to use gold cardstock as my base and then emboss on top with white embossing powder.... I love how clean it looks! I added some gold and platinum sequins, plus a few smaller clear equins - it looks like it is raining happy!

I really like the shine of this gold cardstock too - so pretty!

So go and have some fun and celebrate with GOLD!
