Welcome Little One (a little late!)

Oh Good morning and I know this is late - again.......we were without of hydro yesterday, along with the rest of the neighbourhood, and so my grandchildren came over to sleep here, since we have a fireplace and our house was warm.

They left just now, so I can do my post - family comes first right?!!
Smiley from millan.net
This week's challenge at Paper Romance was offered up by Donna and it was a toughie for me - I do not like doing anything but a card and the odd altered item Smiley from millan.net so when our challenge was to make an easel card - yeow!! AND it had to be baby themed - so here is my challenge card using High Hopes Girl Binky Monkey!

I used the tutorial from Splitcoaststampers for the easel card - a whole realm of fabulous tutes over there!!

I stamped little binky monkey with Memento Tuxedo ink and then coloured her (quite brightly!) with unconventional colours to match my designer paper, which is K & Company's little girl pad-sweetness through and through!

The little doily is a die from Papertrey Ink, the crocheted flower is Maya Road and the butterfly is part of the Kit of the Month from Taylored Expressions!

Happy Bird-day!

Good day and welcome to my blog! Today I have a My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge card for you!

I used my new paper pad from K & Company called Poppy Seed - I love the greens and purples in this collection!

I used the sweet little Pure Innocence stamp called You're So Tweet and stamped her onto the designer paper to paper piece her dress. The other side of the designer paper was used for the card base - crazy eh?!!

My musical notes are a die cut from My Favorite Things as is the little floral strips (Flower Border) behind the image!

I'm off to cross the BIG bridge from Sarnia to Port Huron today - always makes me ridiculously nervous - wish me luck!!

Birthday Shindig!!

Good day and welcome to another Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge!!

Here is the sketch and we welcome you to join us using any stamps you wish - you could win a free Waltzingmouse Stamp set!!

Here is the sketch this week! Kind of funky don`t you think??!!

And here is my interpretation - I turned it sideways and using Bitty Banners and Back In The Saddle I concocted this card from the sketch!

I stamped all of the Bitty Banners onto Fine Linen Cardstock and then proceeded to cut it out freehand, since I don't have the dies yet dang it!!

The sentiment and the little boots are from Back in the Saddle!! Thanks for looking!

We are off to a Pancake breakfast this morning with fresh maple syrup on pancakes!! yummy!!

PRC42 Spring Fever!

Good day and welcome to another Paper Romance challenge! Yes I am a day late (and probably a dollar or two short...) but here it is! We would love to have you join us in this challenge - it's an easy one!!

We were challenged this week to use black and white and ONE other colours on our card - I loved this challenge especially when you get to use the Bumblebee stamp - which I think is out of stock right now - but of course there are tons of other High Hopes stamps in the inventory!

I stamped the sweetie in Memento Tuxedo Black ink - the best ink for copics - no smearing yay!! and then coloured him with my copics using different yellows and oranges.

I used Echo Park "For the Record" patterned paper kit and October Afternoon's "Thrift Shop" patterned paper for my card.

Some bling and a bit of homemade wrinkly ribbon - so easy to do!!

Thanks for coming around today!

I used the free download image from Waltzingmouse Stamps and did a small amount of colouring with my copics. I added a little Zva bling to the clover so it would be nice and pretty!

The pretty paper lace is from Little Yellow Bicycle and came from Taylored Expressions' Kit of the Month.

The gorgeous patterned paper is Echo Park's For The Record!

Matching Thank you

Good day! Here is the matching card -finally - to my Home Decor project that was posted here (right below).

I used a sticker from Echo Park's "For The Record" 12 x 12 kit and then of course the gorgeous, can't get enough of, black and white polka dotted paper!!

I happened to have a gorgeous Zva Creative Crystal blingy sentiment that fit perfectly on the card and naturally the Hawaiian Shores cardstock is so striking!

Got some things happening today - for example, Income Tax, Paying Bills (yuk), Laundry, clearing off my kitchen table which is full of cardmaking stuff - man that craftiness spreads!!

Enjoy!

Well, I was thrilled, to say the least, when Rebecca Ednie contacted me to see if I would be interested in joining Our Creative Corner today as their Guest Designer!! Thank you Rebecca!

The challenge today is to use fabric!! I definitely do not use fabric on my cards hardly at all.....but in order to MEET the challenge head-on, I dug out some red polka dot fabric I have had for eons - yes eons!!, and proceeded to make one of those rolled up flowers that everyone has been making!

I just ripped a strip of fabric and then, starting at the end, began to twirl it around my finger over and over again, much the same way as you would twirl your hair around your finger!!

Then I glued it to a Huge round pile of glue that I made with Tombow glue (can you say messy!!!) - this is where these Glubers would come in handy!! - Large Adhesive Dots - that you can use for these type of flowers!

My sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps set Rescue Remedy Additions and I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I added an orange Walmart button tied with twine and then adhered the flower to my cardbase where I used Cosmo Cricket's Circa 1934 patterned paper for my card base. I also added a Taylored Expressions Leafy Branch die cut with some Zva black bling attached to it.

Thank you girls for inviting me to play with you! It was totally a fun time!

Best Buds.....

Hello, Hello, Hello!

Today is a Paper Romance Challenge that I really kind of screwed up! lol!

We know about these challenges weeks ahead, so when I jotted it down a few weeks ago, I jotted down "Colourful Challenge" and made my card colourful. It really should have been " and to use as many colours as you can" *sigh*.....

I am going to enter this in Moxie Fab World's Paper Piecing Challenge too! I love paper piecing and think it adds a cool touch!

I coloured these girls with my copics and then paper pieced one girls pants and the other girls shoes.

Well, anyway here is my colourful card using October Afternoon Fly a Kite designer paper and the stamp BFF Girls!

I also found some Jenni Bowlin banner stickers in my stash, so I used them to spell out "BEST BUDS".  The word 'hi!' is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Sewing Box  Hugs.....

This card is large! I used my Grand Scalloped Squares, cut out with my Grand Calibur, for the outside of the card - it could also be used as a piece of home decor I suppose - it is that big!!

Now go out and have fun and may your day be filled with colour!

Templates...

This cloud template is too cute!!

It is from Paper Smooches and since I don't have my Cricut set up yet to cut out these templates, I cut them by hand and they were super simple!

I used the Paper Smooches cloud template for the Splitcoaststampers "Try and New Technique " Challenge. This week it was called  "That's Odd" and the challenge was to make a card that was not square or rectangle!

You  know there is no end to the challenges at Splitcoaststampers- you can enter any time you wish ....... there are no prizes - it is just a central area to post your cards that can be seen!!- in fact it is the most popular cardmaking site there is!

My sentiment is from My Favorite Things - and I can't find it right now but it is a sentiment set and it is sweet and goes along with the kite die so very nicely - drat - I could have put a kite on this cloud!!

I ran the cloud card front through the Papertrey Ink Sunshine Impression Plate - they are terrifically easy to use with my Grand Calibur - LOVE that Grand Calibur!!

Thanks for coming around - Love to hear from you - don't be shy lol!

Happy Birthday SFYTT

This is for Jen del Muro's March Sketch For You To Try. Love the layout and I do believe this particular sketch is going to be stashed away in my sketch repertoire!

Using Waltzingmouse Stamps Frame-It, and Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the frame outline and then the cupcake three times vertically. This stamp set is such that you can stamp the cupcake outline and then stamp again, over top, with different inks.

I used Versamagic chalk ink on the icing, Papertrey Ink's chamomile for the little piece of cupcake sticking out and then Colorbox Lime Green chalk ink for the cupcake liner.

I had my Basic Grey Marjolaine paper pad out for this card, and so I used it again - aren't these colours beautiful?!

For the grand finale, I used some Kaiser Pearls to decorate the icing!

Thanks for coming around - the sun is shining today and it is going to be above freezing for the first time in weeks!! yay!!

Something Fishy?

Good day and welcome!  Another day, another dollar lol! Another dollar (or two) spent that is!!

Today I have a card that I made for the My Favorite Things sketch challenge and the Moxie Fab Paper Piecing Challenge! and the Stamping With Markers Challenge!

I used my a la mode Something Fishy stamp and made a somewhat masculine Get Well card.

My paper is from the Basic Grey Marjolaine 6 x 6 paper pad. I paper pieced the little lady's shirt and part of the fish. I then popped up the fish and her boots that were stamped separately, coloured with copics and cut out!!

The little leaves at the top of the fishing pole is from the EK Success punch!

Thanks for coming around today!!

Dream Big!

Good Morning - it's time for another Paper Romance Challenge!

This week it is my turn to issue up the challenge and it is to use VELLUM!! Fun and easy - won't you join us?

Confession time......I cheated with my own challenge! drat.......

I honestly had a brain freeze or something like that.....When I thought up this challenge weeks ago I thought that this would be a great way to use up those flowers that I have had laying around forever!

Well, after I made my card - which is totally cute by the way HAH!! I decided that my flower embellishment is more plastic than vellum.....BUT it does look like vellum -so..... I am counting it in - and I can do that because it's my challenge - well I suppose anyone can do it if they want haha!

It's a cute little (BIG) cupcake!! The sentiment, "Dream Big!", is from High Hopes - available at Paper Romance, which is where I get all of my High Hopes stamps! Amy is in Canada and has a LARGE array of High Hope stamps, along with several other companies - check it out!

If you would like to play along with us,  use the code word PRC40 when uploading to your favorite gallery - but make sure you link to our challenge blog also so you get a chance to win!!

I am also entering this in the following challenges:

Stamps: High Hopes
Paper: Papertrey Ink, (For The Record, Little Girl) Echo Park

Waltzingmouse Release Blog Waltz!

Good afternoon and welcome to our March Release! We will have a prize - which will be a stamp set of your choice from Waltzingmouse Stamps - drawn from one of the designer's blogs - so make sure you leave a little love at the end of this post!

If you are coming from Sandie's blog you have come to the right place! If you came by chance - thank you so kindly for visiting - and you might want to start at Claire's blog so you don't miss a wonderful thang! (purposefully spelled wrong hah!)

We were invited to show our favorite card this release for our waltz, so here it is!

I decided to use the boot stamp from Back in the Saddle and make it a feminine card by stamping in Hibiscus Burst.

My layout is from this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge - with a bit of lace and lush added!

You can see where I used the "kissing" technique on my boots. First I stamped the boots in Hibiscus Burst ink and then, using one of the teeny doo-dads from Compliments of the Season, I stamped right into the ink on the stamp itself, and then stamped onto the cardstock.  LOVE the look!

Now you  need to follow along the waltz and your next stop is the fabulous Sarah Martina Parker!!

Stamps: (Back in the Saddle, Way Out West) Waltzingmouse Stamps
Ink: (Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst, Fresh Snow) Papertrey Ink, (Antique Linen, Vintage Photo) Ranger, (Snow Angel, Tattered Leather) Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist
Cardstock: (Hibiscus Burst, Vintage Cream, Kraft) Papertrey Ink
Tools: 1 1/2" Paper Punch, (Edgers #2 Collection, Guide Lines Grid Impressions Plate) Papertrey Ink
Accessories: Twine, button, homemade seam binding
